Mother and son are doing well. As are the siblings -- jury is still out on how the father and grandparents (that's us) are faring.

    Congrats, Dave!

I'm sure he is just as handsome and brilliant as his grandfather.

Congrats Dave. The father and grandparents will bounce back in about 22 years (that is after college of course). Wonderful news.

Congrats! Look at the bright side, being a grandparent means when they tire you out, you give them back the parents, LOL! Good sized lad.

    22 years??

My experience (total of 12 kids, grandkids and great-grandkids, combined) has been that it is the first 35-40 years that are the hardest.

Normally, I would have expected to take it all in stride. However, my daughter had a very difficult pregnancy (albeit the deliver was quick and uncomplicated). She had to quit work and was on near bed rest, with three kids (10, 8, 3) that need taking care of. Oh well, that's why God made grandparents and sisters/aunts.

She's home now and going full speed.

Again, thanks all for the wishes.

    Congrats.
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.
