"These are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier
and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the
service of his country; but he that stands it now, deserves the
love and thanks of man and woman."
-- Thomas Paine (The American Crisis, No. 1, 19 December 1776)

I'm sorry I've been so late to notice this thread and the sad news. I've appreciated very much having the opportunity to interact, even a little bit, with our friend the Captain. He was a fine gentleman, and will be missed.
Best regards to all of the family. It's always far too soon for this kind of loss.

This is the Captin's wife Paula and I just want to say thank you to everyone that sent thoughts and prays for Terry during his illness. We told him about the many messages of support and he smiled .
He fought very hard but the infection was to much and his body was shutting down. He's now in a much better place and we know he is watching over us from heaven.
My son Rich will be on the forum keeping the candle lit for his Dad.
He's a great son and is my rock right now, I am truly blessed to have shared Terry's life for over 45 years and to have a wonderful son too.
After Terry's death the outpouring of support has been overwhelming and has brought us great comfort and peace.
The adding of his name to the Bob Ford room would have made him so proud, on his behalf we thank you.
Terry always said this was the greatest forum and now I understand that he was right .
May God bless each of you and keep you safe.
Your words here brought tears to my eyes... You ma'am are a Rock! I believe your family unit is the bedrock of what having a family should be all about.
We here at DC have a huge void with the loss of Terry. I appreciate you taking the time to give us some words of encouragement during your time of grief.
If you need anything, just give a shout out to Bumper and I am sure our membership will respond with open hearts and open pockets.
Again, my wife and I offer deepest heartfelt condolences for your loss!
May God's Grace Comfort You and Your Family! You are always welcome here!

If the obvious caring for this dear man are any indication, then Terry lived a very rich life indeed. The true measure of a person's heart is not how much they love, but how much they are loved by others.- The Wizard Of Oz
I sat down here tonight with the intention of sending personal replies to a lot of you. But after reading the flood of posts here I realized that there are not enough hours in the day to do that. My whole family would like thank each and every one of you for your heartfelt words, thoughts and prayers.
Yesterday my mom told me that everywhere they went Pop was armed and that it made her feel comfortable that she was protected. As the new, and very proud, owner of Pop's preferred carry gun, his beloved Colt Commander, I will carry on his tradition of always making sure that my loved ones are safe and protected.
I had so much more to learn from him. I can only hope that his respected friends on this forum can continue my education that he was unfortunately unable to continue.
My mom, Paula, my son, Jaden, my wife, Gina, and myself would like to thank each and every person that that has viewed and posted to this thread. The Captain appreciated, respected, and loved all of you here. I only hope that I can even partially fill the void that he has left.
Rest In Peace, Pop.
He is a good man. Hard to believe. God bless.
