Prayed when I first read this, praying again. Lost three 'parents' to this, one last year. Hard but not impossible to see His glory and peace which surpasses all understanding, through it all.

    Ex & Mrs Ex,

Our thoughts and prayers go out to you both. Throughout the coming months you are going to have friends and family members coming up and asking "What can we do to help?" We went through this when our son had cancer, and generally we didn't want to say anything because we felt like we would be imposing.

Well you need to impose! You life is going to revolve around hospital stays, treatment cycles, etc and other things in your life will get neglected. Like mowing the lawn, grocery shopping, cooking dinner, etc. It might not be a bad idea to come up with a list of things that need doing, and when someone asks what they can do to help, show them the list and let them decide.

    Just our thoughts,

This. I know when my wife was in the hospital for surgery, someone, one of the guys I worked with, came over and cut the lawn. That was a nice touch, and helped a lot. I had a 90 minute commute to her hospital, and we couldn't afford for me to stay in a hotel. My daughter still had to go to school, and several cops gave her their numbers if she needed anything.

When one of the guys I worked with got sick, the wives premade meals, froze them, and delivered them to the family. It helped them get through his treatments, because they didn't need to stop to do chores, etc.

If people offer, CALL THEM ON IT. They'll help.
