    Prayers for fellow soldiers

Hey guys, just wanted to request some extra prayers for some of my fellow soldiers in my company. They took a pretty bad hit here recently. None were killed, they only suffered minor injuries. However they had to defend themselves and some of the younger guys took it pretty hard. That was their first experience with deadly force.

I know time will ease them of this, but every little prayer helps out..

I thank God nearly every day for the sacrifices you are making out there.

Prayers will continue to be sent for your safety and mental well-being.

    Thank you for everything.

My prayers go out daily to the men and women in uniform and especially those in harms way. In regards to your troops...perhaps the following will help:

MINDSET You have the training and the equipment to get the job done. Be alert..see trouble before it gets to you. Be decisive..pick a course of action and DO IT. Be aggressive...They may start it, it's up to you to finish it. Be offensive..Use speed..don't wait. If you think you are under attack, you are. The best fight is over before the badguys think it started. Be calm..keep your head under pressure. Be ruthless..your survival depends on it. The only unfair fight is the one that YOU LOSE. Maintain surprise...Do the unexpected..FIGHT!

Sometimes we all have to admit we are afraid, but we have to move on. Only fools are fearless. Don't ever consider failure..think victory. Only fools are fearless. Focus on the mechanics of getting the job done. Use fear as your motivator. Survivors never give up, despite the odds or injuries that they may have sustained.

Your attitude and mindset are critical to survival. You can't fight back effectively if you are not willing to do whatever it takes to prevail.

This all applies to us, as concealed carriers, as well as our troops. Be safe guys and always check your six.
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.

Prayers sent up, good luck and godspeed to your brother soldiers....

And tell them not to worry about using deadly force against those scumbags; if they have any doubts about why we fight, just show them this link:

That should erase all doubts about doing the right thing.....

Well, honestly I'm not much of a praying man, but they certainly have my thoughts. Just make sure they know that they can talk about it with people who are experienced in such things, and that it is entirely normal to have emotional responses to situations like that.

A bonus that military members who have to defend themselves have over civilians, is the experienced support group that is right there to help them along.

Make sure they know that they did the right thing, don't let them have any doubts about that.

I hope all of their injuries heal quick, as carrying on with the mission will help with them moving on from this experience.

Also, as a sidenote, if there were any IED's involved (which in Iraq they pretty much always are), watch out for signs of TBI from the guys in the blast area, all though I'm sure that has already been covered by the medical staff.

Glad to hear everyone's okay. Training can't prepare for everything but our guys are trained and led by the best so I'm sure that got them through. Like buckeyeLCPL said, now is the time to watch for TBI. Godspeed.

I'm just one root in a grassroots organization. No one should assume that I speak for the VCDL.

I am neither an attorney-at-law nor I do play one on television or on the internet. No one should assumes my opinion is legal advice.
