Exclamation September 11th is just around the corner...

ExSoldier's note: This came to me in an e-mail and it sounded like a good enough idea that I decided to post it.

    September 11th, 2009

We have a little less than one month and counting to get the word out all across this great land and into every community in the United States of America .

    THE PROGRAM:

On Friday, September 11th, 2009, an American flag should be displayed outside every home, apartment, office, and store in the United States . Every individual should make it their duty to display an American flag on this eighth anniversary of one of our country's worst tragedies. We do this to honor those who lost their lives on 9/11, their families, friends and loved ones who continue to endure the pain, and those who today are fighting at home and abroad to preserve our cherished freedoms.

In the days, weeks and months following 9/11, our country was bathed in American flags as citizens mourned the incredible losses and stood shoulder-to-shoulder against terrorism. Sadly, those flags have all but disappeared. Our patriotism pulled us through some tough times and it shouldn't take another attack to galvanize us in solidarity. Our American flag is the fabric of our country and together we can prevail over terrorism of all kinds

    Action Plan:

    (1) Forward this email to everyone you know (at least 11 people). Please don't be the one to break this chain. Take a moment to think back to how you felt on 9/11 and let those sentiments guide you.

    (2) Fly an American flag of any size on 9/11. Honestly, Americans should fly the flag year-round, but if you don't, then at least make it a priority on this day.

If you forward this email to least 11 people and each of those people do the same ... you get the idea.

Thank you for your participation. God Bless You and God Bless America !

10-4, got a brand new one just for the occasion.....

Unfortunately, many in this nation have forgotten what 9/11 is all about; Here is a link so everybody can remember:

Remember why this happened, and remember who the people are that we fight.......

I'll be flying internationally on September 11, 2009, to London. I'll be wearing a nice clean new US flag hat from LA Police Gear that I've been saving for this occasion... hope that's good enough.

"Good Enough?" Man, IT'S PERFECT! But, I'd be happy if you just remembered all that happened about that day on the plane. Just keep the folks who died as victims and as MILITIA (FLT 93) in your mind. Be a sheepdog, stay alert and READY TO ACT because it wouldn't surprise me if they tried another go round of the same plan on the anniversary.

    Amen!

I am afraid that we will all be reminded all too soon.

    I can't and won't forget 9/11.

It just happens to be my birthday. I was off work that day, watched in horror the plane crashing into the second tower while chatting with my brother in SC who just happens to work for USAirways.

    No, I won't ever forget 9/11

Always wanted a 30' flag pole in my yard, or even taller to fly the Stars and Stripes, Mo State & USMC flags.

We have a cemetery close by which has an array of flag poles which displays the US and State flags along with the flags from each branch of the military out in front.

I have to settle for the time being, to have a wall mounted 3' x 5' US flag mounted on my front porch pillar. But rest assured it will be displayed on
    11 Sep 09.

The flag always flies in decent weather at our house. To many the feelings and unity felt that day and for a while later are nothing more than a mere memory now. I have not forgotten.....

    I agree, whole heartily.

But that statement brought to mind when someone on this site said I should forget Nam.

    Why, I can't forget WWII.

Wonder what the "expiration date"/"discard after date" is on memories, such as these?

I always display a flag next to my front door. But on 9/11, I'll be flying a special flag...one given to me by a Senator that has special meaning to me.

I will never forget what those scumbags did to American citizens on September 11, 2001.

And given half a chance, I know they'll do it again.
