I am sorry to hear about your loss, I am convinced our animals make us better people. They decrease our blood pressure and generally make us feel better and more relaxed.

Sorry for your loss. Losing a pet is never easy, regardless of how old they are. They're a member of the family.

I am so sorry for your loss.

My best buddy, George, died in January. He was an African Gray and had a vocabulary like none other.

It truly broke my heart. I've lost dogs before, and other pets, but none of them hurt me as bad as losing George. Probably because he talked to me and it was his purpose in life to entertain me....and that he did.

He'll always hold a special place in my heart.

I never spent much time around pet birds (my mom has a lifelong phobia of birds, long story) but my wife and her family have had several. My wife has lost 3 since we met and it's been hard on her every time. Our thoughts are with you.

The most recent was a cockatoo named Augie. Poor bugger died before I could get him to say "Hook 'em horns." I so wanted to see my Aggie mother in law's face when he did that.

Wow... that was a very tough thing to go through on the return from your mothers funeral. You expected to come home and get some comfort from your pets and then a double tragedy just to compound things.

Hang in there Squawker! Sending some prayers for you and your family.

I absolutely hate when I lose a pet. They are so much part of the family it can be very hard to get over.

The loss of a family member (bird) is about the toughest thing to deal with. It leaves a hole in your heart! It has taken me years to get over some of our losses. We have had 8 birds that are rescues from an undesirable condition. All but 3 have died and a little part of me has died with each one. They are special and only people that have had them will understand.

A hole in my heart for each.

Sorry for your losses Squawker. Tweeter will always be in the back of your mind, so remember the good times.
Sometimes in life you have to stand your ground. It's a hard lesson to learn and even most adults don't get it, but in the end only I can be responsible for my life. If faced with any type of adversity, only I can overcome it. Waiting for someone else to take responsibility is a long fruitless wait.

As bird (Cockateil) and multiple dog owner, I would like to offer my sincere condolences for the loss of your pet - especially on top of losing your mother. May you find comfort in the warm memories of loved-ones no longer present.
