Mom Died Christmas Day
Hi Everybody
I know I've not been here for quite some time, but I've always had all of you in my thoughts.
My Mom passed from this Earth, on Christmas Day at 9:03 AM. She had my younger brother Jim, and myself when she passed on. She didn't suffer but closed her eyes, and just drifted of into Eternity. What a wonderful way to go, close your eyes and find yourself on the Other Side when you open them. She was 79 years young. She was widow and a single parent for a great many years, brought up her two sons, who respected her with all their hearts. Two things she demanded were "do your best at whatever you do, and never bring the Police to the door, "OR ELSE" We respected her wishes and brought up both our own Families the same way. Me, with a daughter in Med School, with two boys in College USAF Scholaships and contracting as 2nd Lts in the USAF. My brother, and his Wife, sucsessful in Nevada, with a daughter on her way to college or pro women's basketball and a son who will follow as an Engineer.
Our Mother wasn't rich, but she was rich with friends. Our Mom was proud of her sons, and proud of her Grandchildren. What more could anyone ask for in Life? Guess it was her "back to basics" type thing that she always lived her Life by. I just wish the World had more like her, and not all the "gotta keep up with the Jones" type stuff. Mom, you did well, brought up your boys the right way, and you'll forever be remembered and loved for all you sacraficed for us.
So, with that, I'll close with a line from Jimmy Durante, who always made my Mother laugh
"Good night Mrs Calabash, Where ever you are"

Sounds like a life well lived. I hope you and yours are holding in alright. That's a difficult thing to go through.

Sounds like here on earth she had a very rich life with children and grandchildren who has surpassed her dreams. No doubt a rich reward awaits her next voyage!
My deepest condolences for your loss!

You have my sympathy. My mother passed away 3 months ago, so I can appreciate how you must feel. Also ,my maternal grandmother passed away on Christmas Day back in 1968, and she was someone that I loved very much. My prayers are with you.

My sincere condolences to you and your family. It sounds like she got to live to see a mother's greatest dream, her children doing well in life.

May God grant you comfort and joy in your time of grief.
