Final Interview tomorrow morning!
As many of you know, I was laid off on 12/31/08, and I haven't yet found a job. Fortunately, I was listed as eligible for rehire when I was laid off. My old company advertised for a PA, so I submitted an appplication. I had my initial interview 3-4 weeks ago, and then has to pass the first investigation, a license check and check to make sure that I wasn't being sued for malpractice. Passed that, and I was called in the week before Christmas to fill out paperwork to allow a background check. Well, I passed that, and I was called yesterday and my final interview, with the medical director at the location where I would work, was set for tomorrow at 10 am. So, it looks good, and I may be working again soon.

WEll, the interview went great! The doc that I interviewed with kept telling me how the regional manager and another management doc were speaking highly of me and of my skills, which was really nice to hear. We discussed what I would be doing, which would primarily be DOT and pre-employment physicals. I know that this is likely to be a very boring job, and not much of a challenge, but it can't be more boring than sitting around on my butt and not earning money. Besides, even if I don't like it, I'll give them my best, and at least a year before looking for something else. And this job is likely to move on to seeing injuries and Urgent Care, so it's something to look forward too. I left with the impression that she wasn't in a position to offer the job, but there's a strong chance tat I'll get it. I hope so, as I not only want to go back to work, it's a decent company and I'm likely to move on to more challenging work in the future. I do hope that I get it and hear soon. I appreciate everyone's prayers and wishes, and I'll let you know when I have the final word.
