Prayers for my dad, please.
My dad will turn 83 tomorrow and was diagnosed with stomach cancer this week. We went to see the surgeon this morning and they are going to take half his stomach out on March 23rd.
It's actually a small miracle they found it to begin with. He was having problems with his throat and acid reflux so my sister (Nurse Practitioner) sent him for tests. During the endoscopy the doctor saw what looked like a small ulcer so he took a sample and sent it to the lab.
It is cancer...
The doctor is very optimistic he will get it all and he may not need any other treatment after that. My concern is his age and he has some emphysema although not too advanced. Often the danger lies with the anesthesia and the recovery phase, at which time a case of pneumonia could be as dangerous as the disease.
I would appreciate prayers for my dad, he's a very special man too me.

NOT LIVING IN FEAR, JUST READY!!!

nor the warrior for his glory.
I love only that which they defend.

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.
You may not like guns. You may choose not to own one. That is your right.
You might not believe in God. That is your choice.
However, if someone breaks into your home at 3AM the first two things you are going to do are:
1) Call someone with a gun.
2)Pray they get there in time." - A wise man

Rottkeeper, You and yours are in our thoughts and prayers,
Take care of your father, take time off work as often as time permits, to be there for him; and for goodness sake be with him often, and keep us posted!

Hey buddy... Prayers for your family as well as your father are on the way. I pray nightly for all members of DC forum, but your dad is getting some extra prayers.
Good luck to him and keep us posted.
