    Iraq is the only place I know of where.....

    ..you can be walking through gumbo mud and mud puddles in the middle of a dust storm so bad you couldn't see 50 yards if you could open your eyes in the wind.

    And a mask or something to cover your mouth / nose area, those sand storms blow really tiny particles of sand into the air that will go right into your lungs when you breathe.

    Sometimes we forget the sacrifices our service members make being deployed to far away places,I recall guarding F4's in England back in the 70's,but being in a country where even the weather is miserable has to be a real pain,one thing I
    always hated was sand down the back of my neck or in my waistline,makes me grimace even now
