Anybody Else Here Been Buying The 1 Troy OZ .999 Silver ZOMBUCKS ???

I figure that if I am incrementally buying a bit of SHTF Silver every month I might as well have a little fun doing it.

So far there have been 4 Silver Zombucks released (CURRENCY FOR THE APOCALYPSE) with the 1st one already having been discontinued.

I have purchased one of each so far on Ebay. I also think that they are just unusual/atypical enough that an entire set may have value exceeding the future daily "spot price" of Silver....so I am going to try to eventually pick up the entire set as a likely wise investment.

    The most recent release.

    Too funny!

I'm still sitting on the gold bouillon that I bought at $1,450 an ounce.

I have been getting mine from this ebay seller that I have been dealing with for a while now for some Silver purchases.

I only ever use the BUY IT NOW feature these days since I do not have time to watch an item all week long and then bid and lose it by .50 CENTS in the last few seconds of an auction. So I buy at this sellers asking price and his price is always decently close to what other Silver auctions end up closing at for the Zombucks.

And then there is Free Shipping and I always get my items from this seller.

Ouch! You bought when it was that high?
Just hold onto it and you'll still be glad that you bought/own it if the U.S. blunders into poopy fan time.

I just checked Monex for the daily spot and Silver is at 19.78 and up .08
So with free shipping I don't mind paying this sellers asking price that includes free ship and the packaging & ebay takes a few percent etc.
    He has to eat also.

With the ZOMBUCKS I think that in a few years the entire set will sell for way over the daily spot. Zombies are not going away any time soon and The Walking Dead is one of the most popular shows on TV right now even though I personally can't stand it.

Yah. I bought on the way down. I had a friend that was a buyer that swore $1,400 was the bottom. He went out of business on that call.

I'm still happy to have it as a backup. My intention is for it to be something fun for my son to discover in his inheritance.

Just FYI - This is also a very honest 100% Reliable ebay seller if you are interested in buying Silver or Mountain House etc.

He has got some occasional really decent "special" prices on Silver Ounces.

The reason that I want folks to be careful buying Silver these days is that there are sellers selling fake Silver "rounds" and ingots and the two that I have listed here always sell the real stuff and not "clad" or Silver plate.

There are some perfect fakes out there being sold as solid .999 and .9999 - so...know your seller.

I still have about 35oz of silver rounds I bought back when silver was $5.50-$6.50 an ounce. These are my preferred silver purchases.

They only appreciate in value and are not tied to market fluctuations. With the exception of the 1895 proof I have a complete set of Morgan Dollars and a complete set of Peace Dollars along with other completed sets.

The U.S. sure does have some of the most beautiful and striking old Silver coinage.

Just out of curiosity, what is the silver content of that 1921 Peace Dollar? I have a bunch of them.

The old “horse blanket” currency was even better.

If I am not mistaken it's about 90% silver 10% copper for Peace and Morgan dollars.

A doctor friend of mine totally believed that Y2K was going to send the world into chaos when the computers all crashed.

He liquidated everything into gold @ about $280/Oz in physical gold. I don't know how much he bought, but it was a couple of hundred grand worth, and it came in a couple of loads. When the apocalypse didn't occur he felt sort of stupid, but he didn't sell. He sat on it.

I saw him at a ballgame last year, and he told me that when it $1,600 he sold a little and bought a new Mercedes.

The moral of the story is that prepping can turn out very nicely even if the end of the world doesn't happen!
