Two home invasion robberies took place in Selma and Atwater on Tuesday and a third has been reported on Wednesday in Fresno.
The attack in Fresno took place on West Chandler near Marks and Madison in the Southwest part of the city.
Fresno Police say four armed suspects confronted a man as he was leaving his home. They forced him back inside and tied him up, along with a woman and a 13-year-old boy. Two other children were also inside but were left sleeping.
The suspects got away with money and computers.
In Selma, Fresno County Sheriff’s Deputies are searching for suspects in a separate home invasion robbery where six masked men with guns broke into a home on McCall Avenue Tuesday afternoon.
The suspects held a grandmother and her 7-year-old grandson while they stole jewelry and an SUV.
The victims were not injured and the SUV was ditched a few blocks from the crime scene.
Deputies are still looking for the six thieves last seen in a red minivan and a white Jeep Cherokee with Arizona plates.
And in the North Valley, a young father and his 10-month-old daughter are safe after a frightening home invasion in Merced County.
It happened on Tuesday in South Atwater. The 23-year-old victim came home with his daughter to find several armed men inside his house.
They were held hostage while the suspects ransacked the home and stole the victim's car. The stolen vehicle was found a few blocks away.
The pure thought of a large number of criminals breaking in is bad, but with me there, I know I can defend my family and do it without hesitation.
But when I'm working, and my wife's there alone, it really does make me wonder and worry...What can you do? Really, just rely on her to take care of it, I wish there was more...that way I KNOW things will be ok.
Camera's that are tied to a pc you can access or a your phone then you can check on her. Don't really know the price on those though but a thought if it bothers you might be something to look into.
As for the bg's if they aren't selling cookies they will have a hard time getting past the dogs through a tightly funneled hallway without catching some lead. Their best bet would be to hook onto the hitch and just drive off with my home lol.
I respectfully disagree with this statement. Recent research is starting to prove that old adage incorrect. It's like they say, what do economist know about crime and since they never have in the past really hooked the two up in a true sense that I can find (I could be wrong) I just can't find it right now, the article linked below states differently starting as of 2000. It's starting to prove that bad economy and crime has all along been link together, just not put together effectively if I'm reading it right and actually common sense tells me bad economy raises crime, I don't need statistics to tell me that. I read it in the papers, watch the news.
Google Economy and Crime and their is plenty historic information it.
The risk is far too great that you will instead find yourself at the receiving end of of alot of gunfire. It isnt worth the risk. As much as I would want to unleash hell out of my AR15, I think the smart choice is to just do what they say.
We talked about it again last night and my wife suggested what I had been thinking but didn't think she would go for. That is enclosing our covered porch with floor to top iron fencing on the side and gate in front. Also adding a security door over our back door to the garage. That only leaves 14' of glass and french door on the back. No civil way to deal with that without grossing up the view.
We already decided I'll carry in the house, but she is still against shotguns in the corner because of the grandkids. Now if I can just find a "House Holster"...
You beget evil with evil. War is made upon certain terms. Be ready to meet the terms of engagement. You should always have the home turf advantage....after that, expect the worst and prepare for it however you wish. Best advice I can give you is be prepared to die. But take as many of them with you as possible, and never be taken alive. Make your stand. Be it known that you'll never actually have a tactical advantage over the unexpected. Once you prepare yourself for the unexpected, you're just prolonging your time and duration in the game. Make the most of it.

Maybe this will happen if you cooperate !
A Galveston man was indicted for aggravated robbery after police say he and his accomplice shot and paralyzed a woman during a home invasion in Beaumont.
According to the indictment, Brock Jimone McNeil, 30, and an unknown co-defendant forced an Irene Street resident into his home as he attempted to leave on Dec. 30. McNeil and his accomplice then duct-taped the man, his wife and family to chairs, according to court documents.
When the husband refused to talk, he was stabbed with a knife. His wife told the men where they hid their money. When she attempted to escape, she was shot and is now paralyzed as a result.
Not fighting is not an option. If I know they will only steal stuff and leave ok, but I do not know what their intent would be. I have an obligation to protect my wife and if I start blazing with my 45 and or the shotgun rest assured, the neighbors will call the police and she has a chance. By doing nothing then the ball stays in the court of some lowlife no morals or ethics having piece of scum. Never surrender. It is like I told my guys in Iraq if you surrender you end up being sodomized and then get your head cutoff before making the nightly Al Jazeera news...same thing here no thanks
The only thing in my house worth dying for is my wife and baby - that said they break in they can have the bottom floor - my buddies the local cops can deal with them. God help any one who wants to come upstairs. No quarter will be given.
This situation is the only reason I wish I had a two-story house, but it's pretty much only advantage if they BREAK IN while every one is upstairs......
These threads make me want to buy and convert a Saiga 12.
That being said, the most important thing is hardening your house so that you have time to reach that long gun/wake up/get dressed/put on your glasses/get the kids out of the line of fire etc. Hardening your home is the most important and least done thing imho.
I agree with exceptions. First I live alone so nobody else to worry about. Second, "get dressed"? I don't think so. I'll be opening fire naked, the way I sleep.
That alone would be enough to send most BGs on their way!
Have to agree with Guardian. Someone getting the drop on you on your way out the front door is rough. I know everyone here will say 'sa sa sa' but I do not tend to scope out my front yard before exiting. Unless you leave with an AR on your shoulder then fighting with one is unlikely.
Sure if I know they're coming then me and my AR10 would send rounds through the door. But then again if I knew they were coming I wouldn't be home.
I agree with Bark'n and so many of the others in this thread. Most home invasions may involve one or two perps, but you have to think of the worst-case scenario and plan accordingly. I wouldn't count on the racking of my shotgun to scare away the perps either; that may just kick things off. Of course, if I can have a "shot-free event", so much the better!
Every mouth I reed the Armed Citizen in the NRA's Am Rifleman and it seems to me that when more then one BG is involved once the first one gets taken out the others run for the hills.
