How is someone shooting an attacker in the back after a rape any different than someone shooting an attacker in the back after a carjacking or robbery?
Some states have a fleeing felon law in which deadly physical force may be used if the person reasonably feels the person fleeing will harm another person.
One more step and it's on!

....yeah... I don't see that being a valid argument... Carjacking and robbery don't necessarily involve bodily harm, obviously rape does. Also carjacking and robbery involves theft of property. Rape involves a violent physical and intentional act against an individual, the individual is violated in the most extreme sense.

Circumstances of the violent act dictate she may not know the identity of the attacker, she doesn't know if the threat is over after she is attacked, she doesn't know if he will return, and she may not be able to retreat afterward due to physical injury or physical barriers (such as walls).

If diamonds are a girls best friend then forged steel, brass and lead should be her next best friends.
There is something about firing 4,200 thirty millimeter rounds/min that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
