a similar event happend around my city,

the teens left wtih out paying

the hired secuirty guard ( off duty police officer ) confronted them as they were driving off. and the cop put him self in front of the car and they continued to keep going and the officer shot one of the guys in the car. the guy in the car is dead now..

as a civilian. i'd just tell the manager if i really wanted something done about it...

It's none of my business so let them be. Why risk your life for such a petty situation?

I hate a thief but we have police officers and a legal system to deal with them not concealed permit holders.
Exactly. your ccw doesn't make you a cop. If events turned worse and say someone was hurt or killed, try explaining that you were trying to protect waffles!

CCW gives you no other power (if you want to call this power) than carrying a handgun legally. As far as ANY OTHER legal ability, power, right to act, right to any special regard under the Self Defense Law (which doesn't even mention guns or any particular means involved in lethal SD actions), any right to interpose yourself in any situation, you are the same as everybody else who doesn't have a CCW.

So, if you notice someone not paying a restaurant bill, do the dame thing you would if you didn't have a gun: whatever that may be. It hopefully will be a mention to a waitress or something like that at the most.

These days, with what criminals are apt to do, that's a good way to get killed.

Much smarter to simply notify the manager of the issue and have the business deal with it. If they've got cameras or the means of identifying or going after the thieves, great.

I've done much the same thing, on several occasions in which it was obvious that "buyers" walked off with unpaid items. Of course, at a restaurant, it can be hard to know whether someone has paid via leaving cash on the table, paid at the table or paid at another station (in a restaurant with multiple stations).

It just hit me that some of you younger folks wouldn't know what I was talking about, just us old folks would understand.

So I thought I'd show you what I meant................
