+1 on this. If it is a PI, he sucks at his job.

I am not a woman, so it is kind of hard for me to place myself in her shoes, or call foul on what she did.

If I was out of town, and this was my wife, I would not question her actions if she did the same thing as the lady in this case. Much better than getting a call from the police or a family member saying she was robbed, beaten, raped or murdered.

Of course in Texas there is a portion of the statues that allows for one to present a deadly weapon and use it to ward off a potential threat without being considered use of deadly force.
Just remember that shot placement is much more important with what you carry than how big a bang you get with each trigger pull.

The reality is that women are generally held to a lower standard in the use of deadly force. If this nutjob had fired and killed the guy, she probably would have gotten away with it, especially since she had laid the groundwork with police that she can call as witnesses. I for one, hate the thought an innocent guy could get killed due to some paranoid delusions of this woman. Her story just doesn't hold up, especially at the end: she called a police officer friend and he told her she did fine and don't worry about it? Is he as incompetent as she is psychotic? Wouldn't any competent LEO tell her she needs to file a report ASAP?
