I've always wondered why more people don't do that. In a worst case scenario where there is a breakdown in your early warning system and the BG(s) are in your bedroom already, I don't think one would have the opportunity to get to their pistol on their nightstand or a longgun a few feet from the bed. In this situation, a pistol on your person would be the only thing that would work.

Birthday suit with G23 on the nightstand and a large flashlight that doubles as a club. The Mossberg is 10ft away if necessary.

    I'm a light-sleeper. It's a double-edged sword.

Lots of good responses, keep em coming. I am starting to realize that my nightstand/ bedroom set up may need revising. Thanks, looking forward to more.

That's not a bad point, but I think I'll be faster reaching over to the nightstand, than I will trying to pull from a holster in a lying position, not to mention that I don't have any revolvers, so follow up shots under the blankets could be problematic.

If they are right on top of me, it's H2H time anyway.

    That's why I also have a Coldsteel OSS handy:D
I think the problem with reaching over to your nightstand is its very obvious what you are doing, especially if the pistol is on the nightstand and not in a drawer. Whereas if you were to have your hands underneath the covers, its easier to draw stealthily...for all the BG knows, you could be readjusting your junk.

Birthday suit....clothes on the floor and edc bag on the door handle on the way out of the bed room. and a p95 on magnets in the middle of the head board for easy access for who ever wakes up 1st in a bad situation.

A lot less than I should probably. Wife and I sleep however we'd like to. There's a Glock on either slide of the bed when we do it, and even when we sleep.

There are now a lot of folks selling different setups for a bed side holster... Google "Bed Side holster" to see them!

I kinda like this one: Nighthawk Protects

can you imagine the insult of being shot by a fat white naked guy?
I figure it improves my shooting, I sure the heck don't want them to get away to tell people what they saw.

I sleep in a t-shirt and panties. Gun on my nightstand. I'm not too concerned about what someone who violates my home cares about what I look like.

I don't understand the logic of this question. What does it matter what you were sleeping in, as long as you get to your gun in the event of a break-in??
I doubt very seriously that you'll be worried about being in the "proper attire" to greet the BG.
