Good job by grandpa, good mindset.
I had a neighbor whom I didn't know (his back yard backs my backyard) come to my door at 3:00 in the morning one time. I flipped the light on and saw him through the window in the door. He said, "I'm your neighbor". Seeing only him, I opened the door and he started to speak, when he saw my one handed 870 technique and stopped midsentence. It seems that my back yard motion floodlights went on and didn't shut off and kept him awake. After introductions he left and I went and shut off the lights.

There is a good lesson by proxy here, and it has nothing to do with grandpa.

...Travis Keller, bought candy and a pop...Two men watched him pay with a $100 bill and the moment Keller left the store, they attacked.
Situational awareness begins at home, in your brain.

Yes we have a right to carry large denomination bills and to keep any sum of money on our person that we might choose.
I have a right to walk anywhere on planet Earth wearing a diamond, gold and platinum necklace with ruby rings and teeth plated in gold.
But is it wise and sensible to do so?

Yes it is wrong for persons to think to attack a person with intent to take what another might have.
But lets be real, this the world not a Disney movie....And before someone goes there strong arm robbery was going on and normal back in the 50s and 40s too so to that end nothing has changed but the color of money.

Mr. Keller put himself at clearly great risk, for no good reason at all.
A hard way to learn a lesson about life and living...But I guarantee he won't carry big money like that one his person again, without thinking about it before leaving his home.

Not to say he should have been attacked for his error, but he did make a serious error.
Possibly has gotten away with it times prior and by that just didn't think twice about it as based on results. : |

Bravo to the young man, even after a brain fart like using a "bengi" to get a snack at a c-store at night he had the forethought to lure the thugs to a safe place.
