    Casino shooting. Any lessons here?

Perhaps you've seen this video today. It's all over the news.

I've watched it several times, trying to articulate what lessons lie here.
I'm shocked at the way this goes down - shooters technique and his brazen manner, but I'm a little naive.
If I were a bystander in this situation, I'd have gone for cover quickly and been at ready position.
From cover I'd think I could have easily taken him out, but I'm not sure if I would have acted on this.

I'd like to hear what others think of this video.

Also, my apologies to the forum if this is out of line.

guess the admins have to approve first.

Well the link doesn't show yet(?).
Maybe the admins have to approve first, or maybe I posted incorrectly.
    I'll check back later.

Entirely predictable activity on the part of a gangbanger. Certain casinos in Vegas have heavy security and others not so much. I'd like to have seen that dummy try that stunt at Caesars.

That having been said, what the video shows is that this stuff can happen at any public venue. I'm not concerned at all if he hit other bangers, but those bullets that missed probably wizzed across the casino with "to whom it may concern" on them.

If in the open go prone, if near cover use it.

Depending on the casino there is armed security nearby, a number in plainclothes. If you whip out that CCW weapon will you get drilled by security in the craziness of the gunfight?

I guess the best advice...don't be there. Which isn't a real answer at all. You do what you have to do.

    link?

I successfully posted a link in another thread unrelated to this and I think I may have posted this one incorrectly.
    Here's another attempt:

With badge- if you seem out of place-GET OUT OF THE PLACE!

Not much to say, a group of homies started a tussle. If you find yourself "there", you have to either leave, be prepared to get hurt, or do some preemptive hurting of your own. Bad scene all round.....

The link tho in text on first post does not show for me - and the second link brings up a save option for a small file - not a vid. Obviously some folks can view this.

We are trying to be very selective on what vid's we have here - tho if content is relevant to SD and not too ''strong'' then of course it has value for discussion.

I cannot as yet know the content so we'll leave this standing for now - until maybe another mod who can view makes a decision.

If anyone has another viable link please post it.

Hmmmm.. I was able to get the link right above my post to play, Chris. Not "graphic", per se- no spraying blood, screams, or usual Saturday matinee fodder, in other words.

Homie A throws a punch at Homie B(or 3rd party-can't tell). Homie B appears to be coming from the casino into the lobby, and pulls his piece and starts firing. One down immediately, falling around the corner, another limping off screen, the rest scattering. Homie B and his buddy (?) are skip-dancing off center screen, with Homie B waving his piece in the classic Birdman Weaponsight-style.

Thx Rob - sounds reasonable so far.

I have a particular download system and very rarely these types of links are a problem - all I see is an asx or wmx type mini file - and that's as far as it gets!

This is typical of these guys. Just started shooting in the area of the casino. When this goes down just get out as fast as you can.

Since I can't carry in Las Vegas, I'd be avoiding the group to begin with and then seeking cover, on the floor, probably behind some of those one armed bandits with their fat bellies of coin. Unless those are the card type.

Seems like the gangbangers like to shoot very high or very low.

Hope they catch him and put in in a pair of pants that fit right......maybe with a stripe down the leg...

From the short clip I saw on the news it was definitely a group of "homies" that most people would not go near anywhere. It was the complete stereotypical scene of a group of 8-10 perps and a little fighting and a lot of running and poor technique to boot.

Side question, is it legal to carry in casinos?

I don't kow what you will learn from the video , but it seems ok to post it. I guess you can get that practice and training would have made this punk a better shot, but not much else.

It is amazing if he even hit anything with all that crotch holding and hopping he is doing.

I would assume firearms in casinos would be illegal.
