Wow! What's happened to Chattanooga - worse crime rate than Atlanta or Detroit...

I heard on the news this morning, that on a per capita basis, Chattanooga has a worse crime rate than Atlanta or Detroit. The report went on to say that we are 11th in the worse cities for crime per capita (at least I hope that's per capita).

Boy, that makes it real - I think I'm gonna switch to that round that knocks a man off his feet no matter where it hits him - if I can just remember which one that is.

I'm just curious if the area has been inundated with illegal mexicans?

It seems that where ever they go, in their search for jobs that Americans won't do, the crime rate increases. I'm not a smart man, but many people would call that a clue.

So I'm guessing that you have doccumentation linking this rise in crime specifically to illegal Mexicans (is this as opposed to illegal aliens of other nationalities?)

Wow, I had not heard that Chattanooga had such a bad crime rate. Having just moved from Memphis we all knew we had a high violent crime rate, one can not live in or near Memphis and not know that, but we never hear about anything bad happening in Chattanooga. Hang in there. Keep your head on a swivel.

Let me make this a little clearer for those of you that didn't get it the first time. This is NOT an illegal alien thread. There are other races, including white that are a part of the problem. Singling out one group and blaming them for current situation in Chattanooga is unacceptable. If you had percentages of crime by race, etc., which you don't, that's one thing. Sooo, the baseless speculation needs to stop.
