He put it in his front yard with a "Free Refrigerator - works" sign on it and it sat there for a week. Untouched, no calls, no interest. He put a new sign on it that read, "For Sale $200" and someone stole it before the next day. Just goes to show you the mentallity of people.
    Funny.
I've put out stuff to be taken of picked up by the city. When that did not work, I put it on the edge of the intersection across the street as if it fell off a truck or trailer. It doesn't last an hour.

Well that's an interesting jewel of information.
If you are not of any interest to anyone that you know of, but obviously you ARE to someone. Maybe they're pranking you, but maybe you did something to piss them off??
The fact that the car stopped in YOUR driveway, rather than the neighbor's, is more interesting, given this tidbit of information.

It's the sign of the times, people are rummaging after soda cans, this recession is getting too close for comfort, almost like a staggered effect, first the banks, then homeowners, now all of us. Here in Oklahoma, I had never seen so many people begging for money at stop lights.

When I had to get rid of old bikes in my old city I chained them up in the front yard.... they were scavenged.

Yup. Almost certainly, he wasn't looking for spent cups of yogurt. Entirely likely, he was a druggie that knows of the market for "special" paper trash from residents in the 'burbs.

Could have been a PI looking for dirt on you....
Could have been someone looking to steal your identity...
    Your ex girlfriends new boyfriend...

I would have stayed at my property, not walked past it.
