I bring my briefcase containing both handguns with me whenever I shower.

My shower is really big,so i mounted some U brackets on the ceiling to hold my Benelli.I have the fan on and stereo,so i imagine my cameras would be the only thing allowing me to catch the thief.Of course, considering aspects of my life,i might have to use the shower gun.

I just activate my alarm system and enjoy the shower.

Seriously, most of the time I just take my pants off in the bathroom and the gun stays in the holster.

It may not be Afghanistan, but bad things happen in good neighborhoods too. My husband works nights and I frequently shower after he leaves before I go to bed. If anyone were watching for an opportunity to come in, waiting for the man to leave might seem like a good idea to them. It doesn't help that our neighbors have some pretty "questionable" characters coming and going in the evenings.

Like I said, I only take my weapon to the bathroom when I shower when I'm at the house alone. If others are home, I don't bother as they all have access to weapons. It's not about being somewhere dangerous, but being vulnerable.

I've gotten real good at soaping up and scrubbing with my weak side, strong side had EDC extended past shower curtain! I'm ready!

I duct tape my 1911 to my thigh and a S&W snubbie to my ankle. I used to hold a small two shot
derringer between my cheeks but the hot water would relax me so much the derringer would fall
to the tub and I almost shot myself in the butt....

I live in an apartment where my bed room door(leading to my bathroom door) is only about 18ft from my front door so I definitely keep an gun nearby especially when showering when I won't be able to hear a damn thing.

    XD9 + TLR-1 w/ 22rds + spare 16rd mag in my vanity drawer for exactly this scenario.

Methinks many of these answers speak for themselves as their writers read this scenario and just wonder. At least SigGuy had a decent answer---in Iraq or in Afghan. I truly feel sorry for many of you who somehow live in a very different world than I can even imagine---I'll leave it at that.
