Was he waiting to get shot first? If your not going to use the gun, don't confront the BG's. He's very lucky he isn't dead!

Yeah really....Maybe he wanted to see if they were gonna actually shoot. Too late then.

There was a fairly extensive thread on this about a month ago, but I can't locate it at the moment.

    Yep; old news.

I thought it may have been another incident.

A couple of days ago in SC, a person saw a neighbor's home being burglarized. He first thought the van was there to deliver something. But, one he realized the two young men were actual burglars, he pulled his firearm & called 911.

The local police said; he put an end to a rash of burglaries that have plagued the city for months.

Very lucky, the first BG out of the garage could of doubled back in and brained him from behind, That would been better served if they would of called it in and waited for police if your not going to defend yourself.

+1 I am not about to wait until the BG decides to shoot or not. He would have been shot and I may have felt bad later about finding out his gun was empty but you point a gun at me you will be shot.

As I mentioned in the previous thread, I'm not going to give a criminal an even break if I can avoid it. I'd be outside next to the truck with a gauge.

He'd have been safer calling cops and waiting outside garage at least. Even then I'd be afraid cop would mistake owner for perp. I understand frustration and feeling like you need to act. Catch 22, Could've been easily shot as he entered. If his garage had a camera, you'd think he'd have it at least secured with a proper door. That tarp was an invite to any coyote looking for an easy target imho.Damn lucky guy.I got a neighbor who refuses to lock up and it attracts kids constantly. Dumb.Where we live , we're on our own. Rural, police may or may not get there in time to apprehend BG. Hard decision...

That homeowner is a lucky fool! If I see a gun pointed at me and my gun is already drawn I'm firing, no questions asked! I would have moved farther into the garage to prevent the other BG from getting my back.

As for the BGs, what's the point of an unloaded gun? You point it at anyone who is armed and they're gonna kill you. If you want to use it, it's less useful than a hammer. But these are the thoughts of a rational man, these two kids were obviously not too intellectually gifted.

Neighbor, huh? That might not go over so well in FL. Your property yes, neighbor no.
