Not me. I say the gun speaks louder than the man. He's just using a con game to make you feel sorry for him and grease the transaction. I bet he would shoot you in a 'New York minute' if he thought it was required, despite his affable manner.

If it were possible for me to react with my own weapon I would respond to him in his own currency by shooting him with the utmost courtesy.

I only carry polite bullets in my gun, so I wouldn't hesitate to shoot a polite armed robber if I needed to.

Just because you can legally shoot the guy doesn't mean you should.
He already has his weapon pointed at you, he's not agitated, deranged, or drunk. Why force his hand when he already has the drop on you.
In this case, I say give him the $80.00 in the register and send him on his way, or are you guys suggesting that you take a shot when he turns to leave?

From what I saw on the news last night he actually got about $300. But unless absolutely necessary with all the cameras the owner had, why put yourself through all the legal hassles of a shooting. The police have good clear pictures of the robber and the car he was using, and also according to the news he left good fingerprints all over the counter.

He's a repeat offender with previous convictions for Armed Robbery and Forgery. I think that says alot for his character. We have had several robberies of convienent stores in the past few months in my area where the victims complied with the robbers and were shot and killed anyway. You never really know what is going through someone's mind.

If you point a weapon at me, chances are high that I am shooting at you. It all depends on the situation and opportunity. If I can distract you and move, prepare for a surprise you will not like.

My thing is, yea he was polite and didnt seem like he was going to shoot anybody BUT how do you know that. You never know what people are thinking. What if the employee would have handed him the money and then the robber said ok thanks for the money and BANG! TRUST NOONE.

My bullet?
True, you never know what the outcome will be regardless of your action or inaction, but I don't want to die over someone else's money. If he's got the drop on me, there's not a lot I can do at that point and he's welcome to the cash.

If it's a till at a store I'm working for, take the money. If you're robbing me personally though, I don't care how many times you apologize or say please, I'm going to find a way to get a shot off.
