Widow attacked at husband's gravesite in Hamlet NC

HAMLET, N.C. Three people have been charged with attacking and robbing a 75-year-old widow as she was visiting her husband's grave.

Hamlet Police Chief John Haywood said Tuesday 18-year-old Breonna Williams was arrested Monday and charged with armed robbery and breaking or entering a motor vehicle in the February attack at Mary Love Cemetery in Hamlet.

It is really sad that someone cannot visit the grave of a loved one without having to worry about predators willing to attack. Maybe if she had been armed there would have been a better outcome.

They need to lock them up until they are 75, then they can fend for themselves!

??? How can someone do the things they do??? I honestly do not understand it at all. They are not normal just animals... Even being Retired military outside of defending a military post, or defending family I do not see how I could hurt someone.. just no in me ot do so. Some have no problem, this is not normal and there is something wrong with them.

Parents should be held responsible as well for these kids not learning some sort of respect.

The whole criminal mindset is to take advantage of the weak, frail, unsuspecting and helpless. I see videos of punks beating a guy in a wheelchair. Makes my blood pressure rise.

Makes you want to go back to the days when they placed criminals in stocks in the middle of the city and let the people have their turn.

I think if they still did that today crime might be down.

I'm betting that there is some sort of slightly toxic non biodegradable material that would make perfect stock material. Second option would be to have one well constructed gallows and run it 24/7 fully televised from Time Square. Station an industrial wood chipper at the base then rinse and repeat.

I think my grandfather said it best a couple years ago; 'A .22lr pistol will cost $150-200. The ammo only costs $.02- $.015 if you buy them in bulk.' I say we just line them up, spend our $200+($0.015*X) and be done with it all. (X=number of shots fired)
