He definitely did. He opens fire with a child sitting on the counter, right next to the robber and directly in the line of fire. I find that reckless, but hey, I guess he knew what he was doing and it was effective.

I know, and you wouldn't think that the guy would keep coming back and robbing the same place.

Not directly in the line of fire. That was several feet to their (mom and kid) left.

Personally, I don't think it was reckless for anyone who trains seriously.

He did not almost shoot the woman and kid. The clerk does not appear to be a complete novice. Had he tripped and fell as he was shooting, then maybe you could say he almost shot the woman and kid, but not as this scenario played out.

The clerk had a solid two hand combat grip in the gun, the woman and kid was not much beyond is full extension and a couple of feet to his left. He was focused on the threat, with a good solid two hand combat grip. It would have been pretty hard for him to have erroneously shot the woman or her kid. He was keenly focused on what he was doing.

I believe if you feel it was reckless, then it is obviously way beyond your skills as a shooter and may need to reconsider why you carry. But that's just my opinion. I know I'm going to get ragged on for that.

BTW... this kind of scenario is the kind posted here all the time where every talks about how they would take the shot. Now when we see what it looks life in real life, all of a sudden, it's reckless?

The shooter himself posted that it was NOT as bad as it looked. The angle was horrible, and he actually had plenty of room between him and the mother and child. Also, he was an NRA pistol instructor, so he knew what he was doing. The only BAD thing was that 2 of the 3 (I believe) rounds over-penetrated. He decided to switch to a lighter bullet, 155 gr. I believe.
