    C-Store Robbery - Shots Fired

You are in a convenience store. A robber with a ski mask comes in and begins shooting at the ceiling to scare the clerk. The robber does not see you in the back of the store. You are armed. Assume you are in this situation and don't respond with what you would have done to avoid it.

Call 911 and take up an overwatch position. Engage target as necessary.

Once he fired his gun there's no negotiations. Say nothing and put him down now.

If he is acting all squirrely he gets one to the head, if he seems cool I get a good line on him, tell him to put the gun down and step away from the counter, if he turns I shoot.

Keep out of sight if ossible and call 911. Be prepared to engage if things go south.

Call 911, keep hidden, look for another way out, if all else fails and he turns towards you and starts to raise the gun you have no choice but to put him down. The thought of taking a life will stay with me but I can live with that because I got to go home to my family.

When you do this you are giving up the element of surprise. I often wonder why so many people will say one of the good things about concealed carry is surprise, but are perfectly willing to give up that advantage when they need it most.
