the only thing improper about this experience is that it happened at all

people with histories of violance and crimes should be in jail...
at best after their 2nd crime...certainly after their 3rd.

    good post

I saw this video a while back but the one I saw didn't have the annotations on the screen giving details or the commentary. I didn't know the BG's were wearing body armor. Good shooting. Marine handled himself well. I did know from the first time I saw it that the guy was shot in the spine and paralyzed. But I didn't know he died two years later.

The comments that people made on youtube are aggravating. One person was saying that the BGs were obviously not violent and the marine was wrong for defending himself...

I agree. I always think that people who pull guns and point them at me whilst trying to rob me are not violent...

Glad to see the right come walk out of it with no injuries.

As to the comments, let's see what they think if they had been there.

I hate to be the one to rain on the parade, but the Marine/jeweler was lucky. He didn't have his gun on him. He had to go get it. He could have easily have been shot before he could get to it. He did however fight back and the bad guys weren't expecting that! so, good for him!

Hooraa! Good job. It is a shame the BG in white had to suffer 2 years before dying.

I've read this guys book, Semper Cool, and enjoyed it, plus all of the authors' royalties go to helping wounded Marines. I don't know him personally, nor am I affiliated in any way, but here's the link to his website for those interested. HOME

Glad our good guy was unscathed after delivering an armed response. Does he ever mention the pistol or caliber used? Its very clear that the one CM shot that severed BG spine still gave plenty of room for him to draw and return fire. He did'nt , as he chose to flee. But it communicates to me that multiple CM hits are necessary to stop the fight.Body armor wearing BG's and possibility of drug use(meth, coke, ect) are gonna make it that much harder to stop someone fast.He did well and was lucky imho...
