Preparing for a Riot?

Sorry, I don't think this has been discussed, but I'll admit that I didn't real every one of the bazillion pages on the George Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin subject.

Thinking back to the Rodney King episode in 1992, I see a real possibility of white vs. black riots coming to the country when the verdict is eventually announced in this case. While I don't believe that these are likely to come to Texas, I suppose it is a possibility. But something to consider that is a huge difference between 1992 and now is that many states, including my own, did not allow concealed carry back then but they do now. So I am curious what effect that might have on rioters. I would suspect most riots would be in California, where unfortunately most of the big cities do not allow concealed carry.

I'm curious if anyone else will be taking specific precautions to protect themselves and their families in the event of a riot?

Common sense can go a long way even if it isn't politically correct.

People who live in big cities know where any rioting is most likely to happen. Avoid being there when the verdict is read.

Have a radio tuned to a news station. Avoid area's where there is rioting.

You can also look out the window and avoid area's from which smoke is rising.

Take the long way home if necessary.

Stay where you are if necessary.

Be armed and defend yourself if necessary.

Stay informed, stay away, and allow the rioters to destroy their neighborhood. Maybe urban renewal will make it a happy place.

Unfortunate for me, I live just on the out skirts of Milwaukee. Fair assumption that "burn baby burn" will be taking place close enough.

In any case, whether now or in the future....this country will not exist the way its been for the last 150+ years since the civil war.

I may not live to see it, but so much better for me.
