I hope this idiot gets some serious jail time.

I don't even see how carrying would have made a difference.

Perhaps he will go to jail and find some real ultimate fighting.

When the past smothers the present, there is only desperation. When the future absorbs the present, life stands still. In either case a decision must be made because you only live now and you are only what you are now.

At the very least he should not get out of prison until his victim has made a full recovery. Not just improved but 100% recovery.

Sometimes there is no sense in what people do. This arrogant guy needs to pay a very heavy price for his senseless actions. If they take him to trial and convict him for assault and the young man in coma dies....can they come back and put him on another trial for murder?

volunteer him for an organ doner...if he survives withdrawal
start with kidney, part of liver, muscles, skin, lung....single stuff until a heart is needed.

that would be his dead-on-date and his debt to society would be satisfied.

Rather than try him for assault I hope he is tried for attempted murder instead. After being put in a coma Foster may need many years of rehabilitation to recover, sad any way you look at it.

It's a shame but you have to be carefull to the point of not giving a damn about anybody nowadays. I was driving through OBT just south of st. rd. 50 (for those who know Orlando, Fl.) and this young guy's driving his car with the door ajar, me being the nice guy I am, pulled up next to him, honked slightly to get his attention and yelled out to him "your doors open". He gave me a mean, nasty look and yelled back "what's it to you? ". It really bothered me that I put myself in that position so I gave him the universal palms up and shrugged "whatever". It's situations like these that can easily get you into an unwanted confrontation.
Why?? Because at the last second, the Police are minutes away.

also this is why hand to hand training is just as important as your firearm training. you are far more likely to be in a situation where you are in danger but where lethal force is not an option.

    Deadly force...

is force likely to cause death or great bodily harm. This unfortunate case is an example of why blows to the head meets the deadly force defination and justifies a deadly force response.

In this case it appears the attack was so spontaneous as to allow no practical response time.

Sounds like he was out with the first hit, then the guy nailed him again. I'd try for attempted murder.

Attempted murder is a better charge, but if he is convicted of that and the young man in coma dies....can they come back and charge this idiot thug with actual murder? No matter if it takes a few months or a few years. Just wondering.

I think there's a legal precedent for that Spirit, but I'd have to find it.

    EDIT: here are a couple:
