    We have outdoor plumbing up North @ camp.
    I carry my Dan Wesson .357 mag. 6 in. barrel in a cheap shoulder holster, plus my M&P9c, just about everywhere, including the outhouse.

    First you say it-------Then you do it.The bear must have been checking out his toilet paper brand,Charmin,anything else just doesn't cut it.

    I'd be concerned about blowing myself and the outhouse up along with the bear. Our outhouse is a frightening place to use.

    .44 mag is my choice of wilderness gun. .357 is a good one too. If a semi-auto is required, they make .50's, but I would feel ok with a .45, I'd just pull the trigger a few more times :)

    Ammo is important too. Most of our SD ammo is made for somewhere around 12" penetration on a human with light clothing. With things like bear, I would switch to fmj...
