In my book shooting an innocent child and shooting an innocent adult are equally as terrible.
It is no worse accidentally shooting an innocent kid than an innocent senior citizen.
Neither deserves a premature grave.
A human life is a human life. One life is not more valuable than another...all are precious.
Precious indeed, but a child is less likely to be able to defend itself, to when know to take cover, to know how to take cover, to form any kind of organized action with other children to overpower a BG, to be able to escape through a closed window, to survive any sort of gunshot and so on.
For those reasons and others, there is a difference between opening up in a room full of kids and a room full of adults.

Question for those in Michigan or other places where carry in a daycare facility is prohibited: Does this also apply to in-home daycare? What about in-home daycare during times when there are no daycare kids there? If someone provides daycare during the week out of their home, could you carry there on the weekend?
Thanks for any insights...

Not off limits in Oregon. I would shoot if I had a clear shot. The risk of inaction is greater than the risk of action. As far as untrained morons being in a daycare with guns, unfortunately that's the price we pay for this right. remember, those same morons are around us everyday at the store etc...disarming them at daycares really doesn't accomplish anything except making a great opportunity for BGs to do something...well, bad.
I'd rather have some marginally trained bozo in my kids daycare (if they went to daycare) than have nobody armed except the BGs.

If My Wife Told Me That...
We might need the services of a daycare some time in the future...I'd probably shoot MYSELF...{sarcasam off...}
You have to do what you have to do...harm my grandchild and you die...slowly...Mmmmmm.....maybe, not so slowly...
OMO...your opinion may vary!

"That I cannot do."
"Give this to, uh, Clemenza. I want reliable people, people who aren't going to be carried away. After all we're not murderers in spite of what this undertaker thinks."
