BG says "I've got a gun" I'm going to reply "I've got one too"
Would you really? Seems you lose the element of surprise there.

I'm on tapatalk and I can't see any options....

If I'm in a business and someone walks in waving a gun around, I'm going to draw the second I have a chance to get a shot off.

Something that I feel we tend to forget is that most BGs don't have proper gun safety.... They walk in waving a gun around with their finger ON THE TRIGGER and when someone has their finger on a trigger they are ready to kill. No matter how you look at it, if I'm in the same area as a finger on the trigger I see it as a threat to my life. I will act accordingly to a threat on my life; just like many other members on here.

Granted at a range it can be different but if I see someone with poor gun Safety at a range... I'm gone. I'm also telling the range master what's up. I've had multiple people banned from the range i go to because of poor gun safety.

The correct answer is: There is no correct answer.

Every situation is different, what will work or is the best course in one situation, might get you and others killed in another situation. Observe, choose course of action, follow through.

If there is no correct answer why bother?

For me I would assume he meant business as soon as he walked in and demanded money. The threat was there at that point. If there was no threat why on earth would anyone give in to his demands instead of just ignoring him?

I'll know when the time comes.

Under FL law, you're probably "justified" with any of the choices, but wise? That's an entirely different thread.

I may be dumb, but I voted #7. I don't want to shoot some teenager with an airsoft gun. Once a shot is fired, then I am "afraid for my life, and the lives around me". All I need is to pull a gun and a police sniper shoots me.

    Well said. I agree 100% [ btw by 3 and up I'm assuming 3-8]

Immediately, by calling 911. After that, it's situational awareness: Are there other people in the store? Does the BG have an accomplice? Where am I located in relation to the BG? Are my hands full?

You engage ONLY when you're absolutely positive that it's absolutely necessary.

Immanent threat (in fear of immediate life end) to #1 Family #2 Me #3 Friends = gun drawn & threat suppressed or
terminated. Hardly any evaluation capabilities, mostly reactive to the active threat.

Perceived threat (action or threat suggesting life threat) to same = hand on gun with response imminent. Evaluating
environment. Shoot or no-shoot is dictated by the threat or situation.

Possible threat (situation is wrong, doesn’t feel right) to same = be alert, back away or leave the area. Stay alert.

I am not a law enforcement officer but I certainly could not stand by and see innocent people hurt or killed. My responses
