So, essentially a rehash of Rescue 911, but with criminals instead of rescues / medical issues.

Here's the 411 on "Panic 9-1-1" according to my television:
New, "I Need You to Put the Gun Down", S1/Ep01, (2012), (TV-14,V), A single mother is threatened by an intruder in the opener of this docudrama series, which features reenactments of emergency calls. Also: A gunman opens fire in an Illinois sporting-goods store; a grandmother contemplates the use fo deadly force. (Documentary, 61 Mins.), (V=Intense Violence)
Sounds like a good show. From looking at the video above, I wouldn't put the gun down if I was this single mom.

If it's the one I remember and heard a few times (the 911 call) , and it sure sounds like it is exactly the same (without the music... LOL), he began to break thru the door into her bedroom (she had it locked) and she shot him several times and that was that , he was dead. Ruled a justified shooting. If it is the same one, and memory serves me, she says on the phone ..... "he's coming thru the door (then scream) " ..... bang bang bang bang bang. 911 dispatcher.... "shots fired" . It may not be, because I don't remember the woman having a kid with her, but sure sounds like the same one.Originally Posted by SmokinFool

I'm watching it now also. I'm thinking that there will be an outrage from many people who are offended by this show.
They are saying things like:
"Using real 911 footage to play on peoples' fear for entertainment is just wrong."
"This show is nothing but an effort to increase ratings by publicizing the sick, terrible, and horrifying experiences that some individuals have been unlucky enough to live through."
"Too many of us have these kinds of traumas in the headlines."
My thoughts... I think the program does a good job showing what kinds of dangers are out there.
