Exclamation Rain drops keep falling on my head.

    Hello Shooter,
The wife and I didn't want to cook one night, so we decided to order pizza. It was raining buckets outside and I drew the unlucky straw. so I hop in the car and head to the pizza place. I went there ...1-becuz its close, 2-it was taking them about an hour and a half to deliver. Upon arrival I noticed 4 guys standing in front of the store under the roof. They all were wearing some sort of red color. I sat in my car for a while to see what was going to happen and if I could wait them out, but they didn't leave. So, I said Geronimo and got outta the car. as I walked to the door I noticed one of them dart for his car. so that left 3 of them standing there. I was not carrying, but it was in the car. we glanced at each other as I went in. I sat with my back against the wall. one came in and looked around, he knew the woman behind the counter, but his homeboys stayed outside in front of the store. As I sat there I am recalling all my training in combatives and target acquisition. They kept looking in, well my pizza was ready I paid with my card. As I was leaving when one of them said nice car. I said thanks. I left without incident. I felt as if they were sizing me up but for some reason they cut sling load. I circled around the parking lot JIC I had to give the LEO a salute report. Keep in mind I am a 20 year combat vet who is a airborne ranger, and a instructor in level 4 combatives as well as Russian special forces training. But I am not superman. Feel free to comment. just want to hear from my fellow carriers.

I've been guilty of the same "sin" but gun in car when your not isn't particularly effective. Glad you and yours are safe.

Maybe they were delivery drivers? Most robberies these days are hit and run.
That being said they could have been looking to follow someone home and you looked like it would be too much of a risk

Keep your gun on you instead of in the car.

Just remember that shot placement is much more important with what you carry than how big a bang you get with each trigger pull.

Pizza is sometimes worth a face-to-face encounter with dire straits. Glad all went well.

Keep a gun IN the car, and ANOTHER gun on your person.

Driving a Jag in Fayetteville (hopefully not down Hays street ) might kinda be like trolling (as in the fishing kind of trolling) for trouble; I doubt its gotten much better there since I left last time in '98.

Always get extra pizza that way you have something to snack on later.

I thank you sir for your service to our country. Sounds as if all went well in your encounter. Evil isn't everywhere, sometimes we are biased by our fears. Sometimes our fears are well founded. I understand you were not afraid, just considering "what if". I think SCXDm9 nailed it.
