    ATM

Okay, this happened. Will give the situation, then will give details of what I did and happend in a day or two.
You get off work late, it is dark out, you need some money for a family outing on sunday morning. You are alone, and begin to pull up to that ATM of bank, and next to it is a pedestrian walk up one. The light over the Pedestrian ATM is out, there is a person on the ground and another standing over them. The person standing over there ground person, has a fist full of shirt and yell's, "where is the rest of it"? Then strike's the down person with a fist. What do you do?

I would shoot them both and take the money. Saves me a trip to an unlighted ATM that might get me robbed.

    I havent read any replies.

Call 911, give clear description of the bad guy and the robbery/beating, tell them to get here now. Leave the line open in my left hand. Exit truck. Draw down and SCREAM....Back off Back off Back off now. Move fast and close distance on the perp.

Tell perp what to do to avoid getting shot into the ground. Binary decision on his part. Robbery is justified for lethal force in Texas.

If perp stands down, tell 911 my description, that I am a CHL and a good guy with bad guy at gunpoint. Tell them again to immediately relay to officers my description as the good guy. Order/wait for her to do it. Describe my risk if she hesitates. Listen for sirens. Tell victim to get behind me. Watch perp hands. Get off X if necessary. If perp runs, do nothing but witness. When sirens close, AIWB holster up and point at bad guy. When cops get out, yell Bad Guy and keep pointing. Follow officer instructions.

Well, after properly chastising yourself for poor prior planning, you drive off as quickly as you can.

Call 911 and be a good witness. You don't know if this is a robbery gone bad and who the victim is. The guy on the ground could have been the robber and the guy pounding him the victim who turned the tides. You only know what you see at this point in time and have no idea who initiated the confrontation.

Call 911 and beep the horn. I might be hesitant to draw my weapon right off because there is a possibility that the person doing the beating was the one originally being robbed and turned things around on the robber and is trying to get his money back. As slim as the chances are of this it is still possible. More than likely I would open the door and use that for cover and tell the person doing the beating to stop and get on the ground until the police get here and sort this out.

Bad senario, I would never go to a ATM anytime but especially at night. I never use them dont even have a pin. SA is a must, to many ways to get money without jeopardizing your life. Well lit supermarkets in your area, or just better planning.

I have to agree with you on this one. If you are leaving on a trip on Sunday morning then stop on your way when it is light out or do it Friday or Saturday during the day.

That being said we all should be able to do this and not have to worry about getting robbed but unfortunately that is not true and we need to plan for this. I am not saying stuff like this cannot and does not happen during the day but I think it is less likely.

Call 911. Stay a safe distance away while lighting them up with my headlights. No mention the BG has a weapon other than his fists. That's as far as I go unless it gets much worse.

I agree......unless a person wants ACTUAL first hand training in being robbed, I don't use them. When I was a cop I was a "dirt-bag-magnet" to begin with....I don't really need to increase my percentages anymore.
