Memphis -- No. 2 on the list of most crime ridden cities in America. Working on being No. 1 but we just can't catch Detroit.

Fortunately, he still has two daughters. Hopefully they are more stable than the son was.

Pretty shocking to say the least. It's so tragic for the husband and daughters left behind.

What a contrast! We just finished watching a segment on the news about how the people of China endure endless lines and delays and hardships to be home with family for Chinese New Year's because family is the most important thing to them, then read about this when a boy (man size but still a boy) stabbing his own mother. My own mother and I are not on speaking terms, but I would never consider hurting her. It just seems as if life has lost it's meaning and value for so many people.
I can't even imagine the pain this man is going through right now. Losing family members is hard enough but to lose them this way will be a nightmare for this man forever.
That's an awful position to be in, no one wants to make that choice.. much less ask the question "do I need to shoot my own son?" Tough.
I feel for the officer in this case, I can't even begin to imagine how tough that must be to go through.

Wow, I have no words for this.....
Don"t let stupid be your skill set....
And Shepards we shall be, for Thee, my Lord, for Thee,
Power hath descended forth from Thy hand, So that our feet may swiftly carry out thy command,
And we shall flow a river forth to Thee, And teeming with souls shall it ever be,
That's a lose lose. I feel terrible for the guy. God bless.

When I was a kid, we had a neighbor across the street who stabbed his grandmother, she lived with the family, in the kitchen....lucky for him he only wound up in a mental Institution and Grandma was not seriously wounded......scary stuff.
There's no easy, clear answer. Nor is there a possible happily-ever-after outcome. The problem began wayyyy before the son stabbed mom. And we can't know the genesis of those circumstances. As for my own willingness (capability?) of killing a family member in defense of my own or another loved-one's life? I honestly have NO IDEA.
There are only TWO kinds of people in this world; those who describe the world as filled with two kinds of people...and those who don't.
