Mass Mayhem at the State Fair

We didn't even bother with considering to go this year...glad we stayed home.

Stampedes, violence overwhelm deputies at Florida State Fair - FOX 13 News

Previtera called the situation "wilding," a slang term that refers to groups of people going around threatening, robbing, or attacking others.

The sheriff's office estimates that around 200 to 300 people were involved in the stampeding. They eventually ejected 99 people, and arrested 12.

But Friday night, he said there were groups of 150 to 200 kids fighting at any given time -- groups so large that deputies could not control them. In some cases, their safety was at risk.

That's nice. What a classy bunch of people. ;) I'll stay on this side of the bridge. Same goes with Busch Gardens Howl-O-Scream. Lot's of stupid Tampa kids running around.

Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.

Interesting sub plot: Around 99 kids got ejected from the fair. One boy got hit and killed trying to cross a highway right outside of the fair three hours later. The parents are blaming the cops for not calling them and telling them their son had been ejected.

DTOIs answer: Don't raise your kid to be an idiot that gets in massive scale fights at a family event and then tries to cross a highway on foot in the dark. Just being labeled a 'parent' doesn't make you one.

Sounds like mom and dad need to turn off their TV's and put a leash on their animals.

As soon as it hits national news we'll hear about it happening somewhere else.

A guy on the radio called Florida a trailer park with water on three sides...I personally wouldn't go that far but man that is a troubling story. Some of the small town picnics and fairs in our area have had similar problems on a smaller scale.

We had an annual street fair canceled this past summer because of yute caused mayhem the previous summer.

This, this is why officers should still carry batons and be allowed to crack skulls when necessary.

Do you think the fair grounds are a GUN FREE ZONE?

G-d, Make me fast and accurate. Let my aim be true and my hand faster than those who would seek to destroy me. And G-d if today is truly the day you call me home, then let me die in a pile of empty brass.

They must be, given the results.
