Got home a little late tonight...

Had a video shoot (my first!) today; it went long, so I wound up getting home later than expected. Got out of the car, got my backpack out of the trunk, started up the walk, remembered some spare clothes in the back seat, went back, got them out, relocked the car, went up the walk, opened the front door, and there my wife was with her XD(m) in the low ready position! Seems the dogs had been alerting for long enough she wasn't sure it was really me.

    I'm happy!

Glad your wife is looking out for her own safety, I like the camera idea, i been looking at them at Sam's and they have come down in price lately. Some are wireless and you can check them with a smart phone when your gone.

Glad it was a non-incident, and that you called your wife ahead of time so she could be expecting you and not a gas-ed up meth addict. You did call her ahead of time, right?

Good thing that your wife isn't the jumpy type. She did well.

Calling out something original like "it's me" might be a good idea.

I have to assume your door remains locked, so does your wife always go low ready position when you unlock the door and enter? Nice of her to be alert when someone (anyone) is in the driveway (Dogs too).
