As it usually goes I was just falling asleep when I hear a loud bang and metal. First thought someone just kicked in my door. I have these cheap thin metal doors on the closest by the entry door. So I jump up grab my m&p 40 next to me and my light and go straight to my five year olds room, she's sound asleep. Then I check the kitchen, living room and as I shine my light out the patio door I see the front corner of my garage smashed in. Better a garage smashed the an intruder.

Ya some 20 yr old girl hit it and took off. They got her down the street.

I would be sure she was under the influence.

Dang, that's a bummer. But still better than some other possibilities.
And isn't it funny how kids will sleep through anything? I remember being like that.
I'm glad it turned out that you or your family was not in danger. Sorry to hear about the garage. I hope she at least has insurance to cover it.

What a way to start the week. Was there a lot of damage?
Good thing that no one was hurt.
We thought for sure a drunk but no alcohol at all. It was her parents car so it did have insurance thank god I do have a snowmobile right by the door so well see if it got any. But the wall was moved two and a half feet in. I don't know where she was parked the the nearest spot that was open was 40 50 yards away ( apartment lot ). She told the cop she was backing up a little fast and got scared.
Terrible way to start the week, but one heck of a lot better than having to shoot someone!
Glad you and yours are OK. Also glad there is insurance to pay for it.
My apartment complex or ended a pod to store my stuff i hope it all fits.
But hey, the good news is you grabbed your firearm and got in position to protect your child. Good instincts!
And you certainly aren't to be blamed for your house looking too much like a parking space :-)
Stupid young drivers.
