They Caught The Dirtbags...
A about 4-6 weeks ago, I shared in a post about my car being broken into along with 10 others in the neighborhood. I had about $500 dollars worth of stuff taken.
There was quite a discussion that followed about confront, do not confront, can I shoot, why not...and so on...and so on.
Was pretty sure that my stuff (and it's only stuff) was gone. I was more upset about the intrusion into my 'personal area'. Those who have had this experience know what I'm talking about.
Well GOOD NEWS...I received a call yesterday at lunch from a Detective with the Gainesville, FL Sheriff's Dept.
They caught the 'dirtbags, and recovered ALL my 'stuff'.
Not that it should be a surprise, but these guys were not too bright. It seems that they hit quite a few subdivisions in several counties here in Central Florida...all during the past three months. One of their 'car jobs' was an undercover sheriff's unmarked truck. Yep, they broke in, early in the morning, and took several guns and cell phones. The Darwin canididates made some calls on the phone to friends and they were then tracked by the calls made. One call was to a partner's house where police found about 85 theft articles. Because guns were taken in the process, the multiple charges become 'armed burglary'...can you say, "BYE BYE?"
I was surprised at getting my things back, but I was elated about the captures...
When you steal guns from an unmarked police car...the cops probably put a little more effort into tracking the BG's (don't know that to be true...just a hunch).
Well I'm glad to report a great ending to my previous story!
I wish everyone could be so lucky!
Stay armed...stay safe!

Kudos to the PD - some good sleuthing and that coupled with dim bulb slime's made for a result.
Glad to hear it. I think they will eventually be watching the sun for a while thru a very small window!

Good to hear a few more are off the street and you recovered your property as well. Stealing those guns will help them stay away for a while for sure now!

Got to love a good ending. Too bad they're now going to the BG finishing school, where they will simply acquire improved skills. May they truly enjoy the "back door" games during their stay in public facilities over the next few years.

It is not good, though, that the deputy left firearms in his car, is it? I think you take a big chance there- you automatically arm any thief who gets into your vehicle. I retract this statement if he was required to do this, or there is something I do not know about the circumstances.

Cool...thanks for keeping us informed.
I'm actually surprised they recovered your goods after that much time elapsed.

You would think the guns would be more secure. Let them have all the cell phones they want. Glad you got your stuff back.

Happy to hear you got your stuff back.
Also, happy to hear that more skuzbuckets have been entered in to the penal system.

Glad to hear that you got your things back and the good work of the PD.
The sad part is that those guys will now have to sit in jail for a month or two. Not sad that they'll be there, sad rather that they'll probably get off easy.
