Gunmen dognap Los Angeles family's puppies
LOS ANGELES Four purebred Yorkshire terrier puppies have been stolen at gunpoint from a home in Los Angeles.
The puppies are valued at 25-hundred dollars each. The family's grown terrier also was taken.
The puppies had been advertised for sale in a newspaper. Breeder Kelly Lee tells a Los Angeles television station (KCAL) that two men made an appointment to see the dogs. She says they pretended they were going to their car to get slippers to wear in the house, but returned with a gun.
Lee says, as one man held the gun, the other chased after the puppies and stuffed them one by one into a plastic garbage bag. She says he even grabbed one she was holding.
The whole scene was captured on home surveillance video, which Los Angeles police have released.
None of the four people in the house was hurt.
