8 sheets of wallboard could equal 2 rooms, taking in distance apart, insulation, etc. I keep some reduced load OO buck near my gun.
I use 00's and get a 2" hole through 3/4in plywood from about 15 ft away with no outliers. I trust it as an adequate home defence weapon.

I can usually hit very small targets moving at very high speeds with my shotguns, so I am not too concerned about hitting the wrong person. At in house ranges the guns throw very tight patterns, even with cyl bore barrels.
I load 8 Winchester Super X 2 3/4" game loads with #4 shot in my Winchester 1200 defender.

Hornady TAP 00 8 pellet 2 3/4" personal defense ammo. Mossberg 12 gauge. Shot placement is what counts. Backup with 92 FS 15 + 1 Corbon DPX JHP and Surefire light. A bad *** chow whose bite is definitely worse than his bark.
