Good job. also consider the use of a bright flashlight to light em up. Most criminals like to work in low light, not be spotlighted.

+1! A good blast from a tactical grade flashlight will pretty much end most "interviews".

One of the best defensive tools of all time, and they're even legal to bring on an airplane. Anywhere at night (even my backyard) I feel a lot safer knowing I've got fist full of sunlight (ok, and a holster full of gold dots). Surefires are worth every penny. Love my Z2.

Good work Loch--handled very well! Next time you get interviewed make sure you've got a "light."

Ahhh that one. You would not believe some of the crazy stuff I have seen in that parking lot. Back in my high school days I use to hang out at the Denny's there before they tore it down. (Pathetic I know, but meh.. I was in high school )

I thought the area had improved since they finished the 225 construction, looks like I was wrong.

Good job on the way you handled yourself. And +1 on the flashlight.

I really don't think that the area has gone to bad. You do hear more about things that happen than we used to. that's for sure.

On the flashlight note, I did have one with me on my waist at ~4:30.

It's not a spectacular one. S&W tac light somethingerother. doesn't throw surefire light but it is powered by surefire 123's. Fairly bright and metal. ~4.5" long.

It's on a belt look with a snap flap holster.

However, now that I'm thinking on it. If I were to have gone to my back like that, then *snap* and I come around with something. That may have escalated the situation in my case.

I had kept a good distance between us already.

I did have it in case things went past the point it did, though.
