glocksandkahrs- asme spec tanks are thicker than 20lb BBQ type tanks (DOT)

Then could a pistol penetrate the side of an ASME tank?

Glocksandkahrs: I don't know, if I had to guess, I would say something on the line of a 44 mag might, I never have tried. All ASME tanks have a tag on them that tells what the shell thickness is, some do vary in thickness. What I do know is that my 22-250 will drill a 5/8 I-beam.
