I think you did fine in that scenario. You could have given your friends the heads up but then one of them might try to confront this guy and make things worse. Maybe ... maybe not ... who knows.

Good job looking out though! :)

Ok. You did good given the situation. However, stop hanging out in Taco Bell parking lots late at night. Rule number 1 is don't put yourself into a bad situation. Hanging out with a bunch of teenagers at a fast food joint with hopped up cars late at night is asking for it. Sorry it is a stererotype but hey I wouldn't be doing it and therefore would never be in your situation.

I agree not to put yourself in these types of situations but come on the guy wasn't doing anything wrong. Why should he not grab a taco and hang out with his friends because there's nutjobs out there?

He was prepared to deal with the situation as it presented itself. I don't think anyone here should judge him based on the situtation he was in just on how he dealt (or would have) with it.

Not like he was hanging out in a drug house or something.

Sounds like he had a 3 sectional staff that screwed together looks like a Bo staff trying to be all Bruce Lee.

You did a good job, ready but not over reacting. He did have a weapon and was coming at you and your group in a threatening manner. Glad it did'nt escalade into anything more.

I agree totally. Everybody went home unhurt. That's the idea.
