I would tend to be a good witness...
I certainly would not want to see 'young' children pounded by a gang, and in that case I might attempt to intervene if I could do it safely. I would not try to stop two groups of youth (gang types), even if the numbers were unfair...no one is going to win!
So much of me wants to 'right' the world's woes in cases like this, but one just never knows the true facts...it's better to be a good witness...a dead sheepdog won't be back to protect the 'family'...and that's my goal!
"That I cannot do."
"Give this to, uh, Clemenza. I want reliable people, people who aren't going to be carried away. After all we're not murderers in spite of what this undertaker thinks."

Knowing the area and the gang problems that are erupting lately, I would expect the BANG option might come quicker here then most people realize. These cockroaches don't like to scatter easily.
I will support gun control when you can guarantee all guns are removed from this planet. That includes military and law enforcement. When you can accomplish that, then I will be the last person to lay down my gun. Then I will carry the weapon that replaces the gun.

There's no way I could ignore that situation. I would first call 911. I would then light them up and give a verbal command to stop; loud enough to be heard over the phone. If the attack continued, it looks like a physical confrontation is inevitable. If I was then threatened with a weapon, I've got the right to defend myself with lethal force. I'll take my chances with a grand jury. In Texas, we don't take kindly to children being mugged by thugs.

Saturday evening, yet another cowardly attack on the light-rail (Max) line occurred. This time, it was east of Portland in Gresham, where a 15 yr old scumbag and his gang cohorts pulled out a baseball bat and brained a 71 yr old man, who is now partially paralized in the hospital. Police caught the spineless weasel soon after.
Your best weapon is your brain. Don't leave home without it.
Thoughts: Justifiable self defense.
Explain: How does
disarming victims
reduce the number of victims?
