The good thing about posted private property is that all they can do is ask you to leave if you are discovered.Unless you refuse to leave,no charges are possible.Assuming you have a CCW/CPL.

Well I for one will no sit home and simply shop online. If I was to do that then the Terrorist need not to attack for they have already won. I will continue to exercise my rights to be FREE!

Every since 911 I have been saying they would try something like this around some significant religious holiday, but I think they will target a Church someplace as well, (which I why I carry there too).

    Clancy thought of this one.
I would rather NOT remember that worst Clancy book of all time. It is so horrible they should force captured terrorists to read it as torture.

Clancy did not think of it either, the idea of mall attacks is old as the hills. Ever since 9/11 it comes up EVERY HOLIDAY SEASON.

Only I'll exercise my freedom by escorting my wife and daughters to the mall......or more correctly, they'll drag me with 'em! But with 'em I'll go, and armed I'll be.

I don't know about other jurisdictions by even before 9/11 my department had plain clothes teams working the malls during the holiday shopping season. Back in the day it was to deal with shoplifters and vehicle break ins etc. Now they just have something else to be looking for. Sigarms Academy offers a course on armed civilian response to terrorism. If it were offered locally I might have half a mind to check it out.

Yeah I was disappointed by that tome, couldn't quite say why, just that it seemed like every othr Clancy book, but a lot less.

I've wondered for some time why the Tangos haven't hit us since 9/11. Supposedly Mr. Bush's team is keeping us safe, and I don't doubt that they've scored a few wins, but I thought these guys were more determined. Seems like they ae somewhat self-defeatist, thinking that hitting us is harder than it really is.

The vast majority of Americans don't feel directly threatened. I don't live in NYC and I don't work at the Pentagon. On the other hand, if they were to hit a few dozen little league games at the same time...

Actually if they hit just a few suburban Wal Marts simultaneously, over several days, our whole economy and state of mind would implode. Nobody would want to go shopping and a corporation wealthier than most countries would seriously stumble. On the other hand, several nacho munchers would be instantly promoted to hero status.

As a general rule I'm armed at the mall and Church. But I truly believe the attacks are off until after the elections. Get Hilliary in and then wham! Terror and a reason for her to legislate us down to the level of the UK.

Unfortunately, if they do attack it will most likely be via a suicide bomber, so being armed will not likely help you survive if you are unluckly enough to be in the mall at that time.

As an aside , I just returned from a trip to Israel, where, as we all know, they have experienced more then their share of terrorist attacks. You can not enter a mall or restaurant with a bag or backpack without it being searched by armed security, and if you are at all suspicious looking, you will be wanded.

The other thing about the Israeli public is that, unlike here, people accept seeing guns being carried openly, both by members of the IDF(Israeli Defense Force), who carry Uzi type weapons with them whenever they are on active duty and traveling about, so that wherever you are in Israel you see them, both men and woman, on the streets , buses, etc., and also many people with licenses will carry openly, in addition to the armed security outside of restaurants and other places where large numbers of people may congregate.

You really don't need a suicide bomber at a mall. Look around any food court and notice packs and briefcases sitting unattendent. Now think if the average large mall has 2 or 3 food courts times 2 or 3 bombs each. How much damage can that do if they are all set off at the same time by a timer or cell phone. Nobody has learned anything in this country from our attacks so far. Look at Israel and the attacks they get from terrorists. It will happen here. Nobody pays attention to anything!
