good scenario
I, like a lot of folks on here, also have a pistol on me if I'm awake
as for when I shower, if the wife is home, no pistol on the shower (on dresser top just outside bedroom)
If I'm alone at home: doors locked, dog in the house, Glock 30 sitting in corner shelf of tub with a plastic bowl turned upside down covering it

My dogs would go completely bananas, giving me enough time to step out and grab my gun. Or I might be so mad that I'd grab my battle mace instead.

This may be one area where the tupperwear guns outshine the others.

My wife and I take turns manning the SAW while the other showers!!
Seriously, my USP is always outside the shower. Doors locked and alarm panel in bathroom.

Betty with a battle mace! Now that is something a small army couldn't survive! Betty, you got style!

The G23 goes into the bathroom with me. It sits on the sink right next to the shower so it is right there.
I was in the Navy so I can take a complete shower, getting completely clean, in less than 2 minutes. That is one thing the Navy taught me that will stick for life. I can eat and shower faster than I would have ever thought possible. I do not eat fast anymore, thank God, but I do still take a Navy shower. Fast and the water gets turned off when soaping up.
But I too think about this very subject almost every time I get into the shower.

Packinnova had posted a link for an airsoft sentry. If nothing else it could buy a couple of minutes

Having dogs in the house gives me confidence of at least a few seconds of barking and carrying on, enough time to go grab my carry pistol out of its holster, or to grab the 12 gauge (kept with rounds in the tube mag, chamber empty) in the safe right next to the master BR.
I know a retired narcotics cop who had a colleague who's done some really hairy undercover stuff though, a guy who's sent a lot of people away and made a lot of enemies. THAT GUY, retired now, has probably a better expectation of being attacked someday. He deals with the shower "problem" by putting a Glock in a sealed baggie, and he has practiced and is able to shoot it through the baggie should he be soaping and washing when the bad guys arrive.

This may be one of those times where being a female is an advantage. I typically do keep a gun in the bathroom when I'm in there for an extended period of time, but I come out of the shower to a BG, the sight of me naked should pretty much blind them. If I was female, there'd be a shock factor long enough for me to get off a double-tap.

Glocks rock in this regard - I keep my G21SF (.45 ACP) on the counter, and rely on my mutant German Shepherd to bark her teats off (and initiate a canine gonadular death grip on the intruder) if any miscreants barge into the shack. Layered defence!

I don't have that problem. Being European, I don't shower.
Sorry to warm up this old thread, but I just had to get that joke out of my system. Besides, I'm well within the two-weeks-rule.

I generally have something on me. When I go to take a shower, I drop trou' with the gun still on my pants and belt. Not always, but pretty often.
