Only foolish in the way he chose to do it.

Tactics might've gotten him hurt, but glad he got the guy.
His tactics appear foolish, though do to lack of sound and quality we really do not know exactly what was going on.

I agree. I would have taken a shot if I had it.
Not too smart... for one, he didnt use the advantage of gun vs. knife and he allowed himself to get to close. He got lucky that the perp complied. If he had'nt, the outcome would have been much worse.
The cop allowed himself no "alternative" response...a mistake that NO cop should make.
