I kept cringing when I saw him hop over the counter. I kept expecting the bad guy to stick him (noted about a 4 inch knife in the BG right hand).

That officer is going to get himself hurt or killed someday if he doesn't start employing some common sense.
I will support gun control when you can guarantee all guns are removed from this planet. That includes military and law enforcement. When you can accomplish that, then I will be the last person to lay down my gun. Then I will carry the weapon that replaces the gun.

I'm let wondering if it was training, make believe, because I am a bit surprised the LEO didn't take better precautions...especially after he grabbed him and he is trying to hold his gun and the BG's wrist...

Tactics might've gotten him hurt, but glad he got the guy.

His tactics appear foolish, though do to lack of sound and quality we really do not know exactly what was going on.

That was my first thought after watching the video ( comp im on has a problem with audio so I can't hear if theres audio on the video )
to me the tape looked like a DEMOnstration for police training.

I would have shot him if I had a clear shot after telling him to drop it. If no clear shot, I would have waited as a victim.

Not too smart... for one, he didnt use the advantage of gun vs. knife and he allowed himself to get to close. He got lucky that the perp complied. If he had'nt, the outcome would have been much worse.

The cop allowed himself no "alternative" response...a mistake that NO cop should make.

Nor am I. But I'm not going in blasting away when no life is in immediate danger.

It might be good, but its shaky...
